April 2024 Sponsor Newsletter
For our premium supporters, an update on everything happening at AI and Games
Hello all,
Hope you’re doing well! It’s time for the monthly sponsors update, which is actually the March update but rolled over into April. There’s a good reason for that sadly, I managed to contract COVID whilst on my return flight from GDC. Meaning that everything has been pushed back a good 7-10 days from the original schedule. Hence the March newsletter is now the April one. So sorry about that! Fingers crossed we’re going to be back to our regular schedule now that March is behind us.
Tommy’s Update
Speaking of, March was an absolutely hectic month. After kicking off the 10 year anniversary of AI and Games, I was on the road - a lot! I spent a week out in France working for Supernova consulting for one of their game studios. I managed to wrap that project up just in time before I flew out to GDC. As you’ll have seen from the vlog and the Branching Factor episode, that was a super intense week. It was nonetheless very fun and also could lead to some exciting future opportunities.
Sadly I subsequently lost a good week or so of my time to COVID, but bounced back from it without any major repurcussions (vaccines work, shock, surprise). I’m now working on more video content in between a stack of events in the coming weeks. I’m speaking at the London Developers Conference this week, and then next week I am… (checks notes) hosting a content creation workshop for the IGGI PhD consortium starting next week, talking at University of West of England in Bristol and on a panel for Barclays on AI for games in London.
Yeah… I’m in demand right now! And it’s nice to be able to say that.
